You don't have to be a programmer to have a great looking website. But, you will need to understand the code if you want the site to include anything more than just images and text. Also, there are other things that may need to be configured in order for your site to work properly. For example, what if you want a form so that your clients can sign up for a Newletter? You have to figure out how to get the infomation from your page to your email. Sometimes, it is all done at the Host with minimal coding required. Sometimes, it's a nightmare! Been there, done that!

My Advice:

1. If you are not a Programmer : Then keep your paws out of the code! Trust me on this one.

2. Do I need a Programmer or a Designer?: Some Designers are not Programmers, and vice' versa. If you can find a Designer that is a Programmer, then you get the best of both worlds! In case you are wondering, Yes, I am a Programmer and a Designer.
